Mission

Our mission statement may surprise you: "To make the best, most loving use of our lives, and to help others make the best, most loving use of their lives." Much of what we do involves inventing new methods that solve problems, decrease suffering or increase personal fulfillment.

Vision

Imagine that a group of super-creative people became very troubled about the world. They form an organization. They begin to create huge solutions to global problems. They also create what they call “global upgrades” – innovations that can make life better and more pleasant for most people on Earth. Not only do they create these innovations, but they develop a way to rapidly spread them around the world. You’d imagine that most people on Earth would be glad and relieved that this was happening.

That’s the vision for Idea Source: We've invented at least eight potentially world-changing innovations. We have a plan to roll them out globally, explosively fast.

Our Logo Explained

The waterfall represents the flow of time and the flow of ideas. Just as you can’t stop a river, you can’t stop time. One theme of Idea Source is to live in the present moment. In other words, appreciate the “waterfall” of time. The wheel represents harnessing the flow of ideas to do productive things. The reason that it’s visually smaller than you might expect is our emphasis on living in the present -- "the waterfall" -- and making the best, most loving use of our lives. We solve problems usually with a future orientation, preventing future hardship and premature death, but we appreciate the process of doing this in the present moment.

The wheel has eight buckets. That symbolizes eight dimensions of Idea Source. Before explaining the eight dimensions, think of a marriage. Most people would agree that a marriage is a committed relationship between two people. But it has multiple dimensions. It usually involves: a living arrangement; a sexual dimension; new financial arrangements; legal changes (regarding taxes, estate and children); the creation of in-laws; a partial change of self-image as a married person; and a new mutual story of building a relationship, and maybe a family.

Similarly, Idea Source has at least eight dimensions: * Creates global solutions * It offers self-help tools to individuals * It's a new story, an unfolding drama * It's a way to do high-leverage good * It's a source of optimism about the future * It's huge innovations can change power structures * It's innovations can reveal "hearts," in other words, people's attitudes towards innovation and what they believe is possible * Some innovations can become a global insurance policy, a protective force for humanity. -- So if you tell people about Idea Source, say "It's a super-creativity organization, but it's much more!"

Idea Source is much more than a creativity organization!
